'Flat top' - 'Flat back' - Steel strung (except Ukuleles which are NylgutŪ-strung) Mahogany is usually used for the neck, blocks and linings. European Spruce is used for the top, struts and braces. A fully adjustable truss rod is installed in each steel-strung instrument while Ukulele necks are reinforced with carbon fibre. |

All instruments are available with a variable degree of decoration but two levels are designated for pricing purposes as follows: |
Basic Model Plain (not bound) fingerboard and peghead Mother-of-Pearl dot position markers Black/white/black purfling to body and soundhole Plastic bindings to top and back.
De Luxe Model Bound fingerboard and peghead Mother-of-Pearl diamonds and/or squares position markers Herring-bone purfling to body and soundhole Wood bindings to top and back. |

Pick-up Systems Pick-up systems can be fitted to all instruments. Pickard Acoustics recommends the use of the appropriate choice from the Headway Active Pick-up Systems for Acoustic Stringed Instruments range. Prices on application. Cases Cases can be supplied for all instruments. Pickard Acoustics recommends either Calton Fibreglass Cases for Guitars, Banjos and the Mandolin family or Hiscox Cases for Guitars. Banjos are available as 5-string, Plectrum, Tenor or 6-string; and either Open-back or Resonator Models. Open-back Models have 1/2 inch maple rim with either Tubaphone or Whyte Laydie style tone ring (11" or 12"). Resonator Models have 3/4 inch maple rim with either Flat-top or Arch-top tone ring (11" only). All Models have double co-ordinator rod construction for stability. Maple is the wood of choice for necks and Ebony for fingerboards. A fully adjustable truss rod is installed in each instrument as are quality machine heads.
